It's a learning process.....

Before I had the surgery I read and read and read about the band. And, the main thing I read and was told was that you can't drink 30 minutes before you eat or 60 minutes after you eat. And, let me tell you this is a problem for me. I keep forgetting. I remember not to drink before I eat but it is the drinking after I eat or while I eat that is the problem. I eat and then I don't think about it and wanna wash down my meal. This causes a problem and gives me a stomach ache. It feels like I have an elephant sitting on my stomach until some of the food sifts through. It is all a learning process and I really need to work on this part of it. I have everything else down. I say the alphabet twice while I chew and then swallow. I eat only a quarter cup of food at a time. I take my vitamins and tums (for calcium) but the drinking after I eat I really need to work on. I am about ready to get a note tattooed on my hand. "DON'T DRINK FOR 1 HOUR" LOL!! I know I will over come this though. Cause the stomach aches are enough initiative to remember not to drink to soon after.

Also I miss soda. I have been trying to kick the habit for years now. I would only have a can a month or just a few sips from the hubby's soda. But, I am to afraid of drinking because the gas in my stomach hurts. I know this because of right after surgery I had gas in my tummy and it hurt. So taking a drink scares me but man do I miss the fizz on my tongue or the bubbles down my throat. I know that it is good that I am going cold turkey and giving it up but I really do miss it. Especially since we have a TON in the fridge because the hubby drinks it at work. Oh well all is worth the weight loss and getting healthy. Thanks for letting me rant and vent a little. I figured I would let you all know what was giving me issues. Oh and I have lost 3 more lbs. That makes total weight loss 57lbs and I am now at 295lbs. GO ME!!
