I made homemade sweet and sour chicken and vegetable lo mein. Thought I would share the recipe since I had NO problems eating it and it was DELICIOUS!!
Sweet and Sour Chicken:
* 3 chicken breasts -boneless, skinless
* 2 cups flour
* 2 tblsp corn starch
* 1/4 c. milk
* 1 egg
* salt/pepper
* garlic/onion powder
* Oil -for frying
Cut the chicken into bite size pieces. Mix flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, onion and garlic powders together in a bowl. Mix the milk and egg together in a different bowl with salt and pepper. Heat oil up to medium heat. Dip chicken in to egg wash then flour then egg again then flour again. Fry for about 8-12 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Toss with sauce and let sit for about 10 minutes.
Lo Mein

* 2 green onions
* 11/2 c. cabbage
* 3 celery stocks
* 1 cup bean sprouts
* 1 tblsp sugar
* 1 cup broth or water
* 1/4 c. soy sauce
* 1 tsp sesame oil (I left this out)
* 1 tblsp cornstarch dissolved with 1tblsp water
In a large skillet sautee all the veggies til wilted and tender. Add in broth/water, soy sauce, sugar and cornstarch mix. Simmer for 3 minutes. Add in boiled noodles (I used thin spaghetti half a box). Let sit for 10 minutes and enjoy!!
