Semi-Homemade
I made a delicious dinner tonight. I also threw in dessert. Both of which were semi-homemade and my family loved them. I made a double cheese, double pepperoni pizza and cinnamon roll puffs with a cream cheese frosting.
Though I can not eat the crust of the pizza, I scrape off the top and enjoy. I use to try and have my family eat all the healthy meals I cook but realized just cause I have to change everything about my diet doesn't mean they should miss out on some of their favorites. So I have found ways to make them a bit healthier. At least when I make it here at home I know what is going into or on it and it isn't coming from a fast food place such as Pizza Hut or Dominos.
I made both the pizza and cinnamon roll puffs with crissont rolls out of the tube. Just pinch the crust closed and roll out. Then with the pizza I used left over marinara from making lasagna, 1% low fat skim mozzerella and fresh deli pepperoni. Then just baked it. The crust was crisp and light (so my hubby says) and everything was moist and delicious. With the cinnamon rolls I did the same thing with the crissont crust then smeared it with butter, sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon and rolled it into a log. Cut in into pieces and baked it to a golden brown. Topped with homemade cream cheese frosting and viola. Delish!!
