Today while eating breakfast I swallowed a little soon while finishing chewing my bite (I few my food while saying the alphabet twice). It was the 1st time I have done that. And, I will be much more careful from now on. Because, I NEVER want a repeat of what happened this morning. It got stuck and would not go down to the band. It was the weirdest feeling ever. I coughed and it came up along with everything else that I had ate which luckily was only a bite of potato salad and one other little piece of chicken.
I had heard of other lap banders having this problem. But, until you experience it yourself you never realize how uncomfortable or weird it is. I will be much much more careful from now on. I surely do not want a repeat of that experience. I am already afraid of something happening with my band and eating to much or throwing up only increase those chances. Luckily I didn't exactly throw anything up today but it is better safe then sorry.
I have started my protein diet this week. Drinking protein shakes, eating lean proteins, high protein fruits and veggies as well. My doctor and nutritionist do not want me eating foods that are just empty calories or drink empty calories. I also have to stay away from veggies such as broccoli and celery because they do not break down enough. It is going to be hard to get used to but well worth it to be healthy and happy.
Here are a few pictures. I am at 4 weeks post op.
285lbs
And this was me at 298lbs 2 weeks after surgery
I see a slight difference. I am very proud of these 13lbs these last 2 weeks
