Protein

So with the Lap Band I am suppose to drink protein shakes and get plenty of protein through out the day. This is hard for me. Especially on the days that I don't feel like eating. The shakes I suck down while plugging my nose. Though a few friends of mine have told me about a few different kinds that I will have to try. I make sure to make our meals with lean proteins and veggies and fruits and a starch.

Though lately after I am finished cooking for the family I am no longer hungry. And, my go to drink....milk... has been giving me a sour stomach. So last night I ended up hungry around 8pm and didn't want anything heavy. So I tried a few whole grain Sunchips and tuna but didn't eat more the 4 chips and tuna. So I decided to see what we had. I totally forgot about peanut butter. Which has 7g of protein in just 2 tblsps. We had the Skippy creamy peanut butter. I grabbed me a spoon and decided to dig in. It was always one of my favorite snacks when younger. And, I found out that peanut butter is band friendly!! I was so excited.

I will also be trying Koshi Go Lean cereals. They are loaded with protein. I am thinking that instead of mixing the cereal with milk, since I can't drink right after I eat, I will try it with yogurt. I want to also try cottage cheese with different types of fruits. Also a Lap Band coach I have met eat Greek Yogurt with peanut butter flour. I will be trying all of these. So next weekend when I start doing weekend food updates I will also be adding in Lap Band friendly snacks for when I can not eat a regular meal. I hope you will follow me on this journey.

 Until Next Time...........
