Mind craving or body craving?!

These cravings seem to be the hardest to decipher. Especially now since there are times when I am NOT hungry at all. And, as my surgeon told me, you can NOT go by what you are craving. Weather it be sweet or healthy, fried or baked, cold or warm. You have to listen to your body. Like right now I am sitting her just surfing the web and watching tv. I just ate a high protein dinner of 1/8 cup crab salad, 1 bbq boneless and a 16 oz sweet tea. I know I am not hungry and my stomach is not hungry but I have a "craving" for a brownie hot fudge sundae. Now I know this is a mind hunger. I have slowly learned the difference but still slip up now and again.

I believe the mind hunger craving pop up because of something someone says, something the tv advertises or just cause I am bored. I also believe that when these cravings pop up you can drink an 8 oz glass of water and wait 15 seconds. It takes 7 seconds for fluids to reach our stomachs. I believe that if you still FEEL hungry after your water try a little snack. And, listen to your body!! If you want something sweet eat it but in a smaller portion. Say you want a snicker, grab a fun size or bite size instead. This is advise my nutritionist and surgeon gave me and I swear by it.

NEVER deprive yourself. When you do all you are doing is sabatogeing yourself. When you have a craving your body needs something in that food. Plus if you refuse to give into you craving, even in moderation, you will only crave it stronger. Listen to your body. It WILL tell you what you need. Please listen to your body. People always ask how I can lose so fast and so well. I listen to my body. I don't sabatoge myself by restraining from my cravings, I just eat them in moderation. I exercise twice a day. Burning more calories then you take in really gets the weight off.

My husband who wears a size small in EVERYTHING clothing wise gave me his coat to wear today. I did NOT think it would fit since I use to be a size XXL. I tried anyway and guess what. It fit like a glove. My surgeon and nutritionist know what they are talking about and I am sharing their wisdom. So even though I am craving a brownie hot fudge sundae, I will stick to my water since I know that it is "mind hunger" BUT remember that if it is "real" hunger EAT!!

My mind craving
My true craving
