I haven't posted in a while. Figured I had better update everyone. I have some cool things to talk about and some not so fun kinda TMI things to share. I also have to state that I won't be adding more pictures until June. I am trying to surprise my family back home with my progress. Some of them read on here so I can't post pictures.
So where to begin. Hmmm... Well this week my whole little family has gotten sick. It hasn't been fun. I have a horrid cough, stuffy nose, chest cold and an ear ache that developed this morning. My poor baby girl and hubby are sick as well. I hate the cough cause after eating if I start coughing to hard then I end up coughing up all my food that is waiting to go through my band. It is horrible. But I have lost weight even during this illness. I am down 155lbs to 197lbs :)
I also felt I needed to share a few other things. I promised to be open and honest about all the ups and downs of the lap band. I shared the "runs" story of after surgery. Now I am going to tell you about the constipation. AGAIN MAY BE TMI FOR SOME!! Even though I take in the recommeneded amount of water I still tend to get constipated. Sometimes it is so bad that I have to try different things. Well I have found a solution. I have gone to using the laxative suppositories when needed. My surgeon recommended them. They work like a dream. Before using them I also tried a true home remedy that worked wonders as well. Mix 2 tblsp or olive oil with 2 tblsp of orange juice and drink. It really helped. I really hate having to share these parts of the journey. But, I promised I would tell you things that you don't learn from the doctors or other banders.
So before I leave I thought I would share what kind of suppository I use. Also I promise to keep up on the blogging. I am thinking of starting another blog (I will link them together) that is about "How a lap bander eats" in which I will share my recipes and amounts that I eat. I hope that if I start it you will follow it as well.
Have a great day!
